Background

Agere Award has now celebrated its fifth year in Atlanta. In addition to creating a tradition of recognizing promising Ethiopians locally, Agere Award has inspired other Ethiopians in other cities into forming similar organizations to say “thank you” to their deserving community members. We are glad to announce our next event to be held on October 17, 2010 where we will celebrate this year’s winners.

As we do every year, during this year’s event, a recognition will be given to the chosen person of the year from the Ethiopian community in Atlanta. In addition, we will recognize students, parents, and outstanding Ethiopian organizations. Guest of honors will be invited from all over the United States.

Last year, the 4th Agere Award was very successful and we believe this year’s event will be even better. We expect more than 400 people to attend and expect much more media coverage.

The event includes an entertaining theatre performance, a fashion show, and a music
concert. Last year’s event was covered by Admas Ethiopian Radio in Atlanta, Minnesota
Ethiopian Radio, DC Broadcast Seattleite Radio, Voice of America Radio , Ethiopian Television Network in Virginia and numerous other news papers.

Be part of this historical event and show your support along with the 50,000 and plus Ethiopians in and around Atlanta. The research conducted by Agere Award staff shows that Ethiopians in Atlanta spend around 20 Million dollars a month. Platinum Sponsorship ($1000)

• We will put your banner by the stage.
• We will allow you to bring DVD which shows your business activity and we will show it
  to the audience …it should not be more than 2 minutes.
• We will mention your company name as a sponsor in all interviews concerning the
  event with the media (radio, local publications).
• We invite you during the event and give you about 3-5 minutes to explain your service
  to the audience from the stage
• You will have your own table during the event to promote your business. Alternatively,
  you may choose to interact with all event attendees at the entrance by passing out
  promotional materials.
• We will put your business logo on the 10,000 flyers and a lot of posters which will be
  distributed to promote the event
