In 2004, Agere Award was created to recognize individuals for their outstanding community service. 

In the past years, businesses were nominated by the public for their quality of work and employees were recognized for their outstanding customer service. However, last year the planning committee has decided that the focus of this award should be towards individuals who invest their time, energy, and resources to serve our community. Through their community service these individuals have contributed immensely to the betterment of our community here in Atlanta.

In recognizing their hard work it is our hope to motivate and inspire others to become future leaders. We actively support those who will take ownership of issues faced by our community and find innovative solutions to social challenges locally and globally.
